Jean-Pierre Andrieux

J.P. has been a ship’s agent in the Port of St. John’s for decades and possesses an intimate knowledge of the cruise ship industry in particular. An avid student of history, he is the author of The White Fleet: A History of the Portuguese Handliners. Andrieux is the Honorary Vice-Consul of Spain for Newfoundland and Labrador, and was inducted into the Order of Canada in 2014.
Memories of the Portuguese in St. John’s
Up until 1974, the annual arrival of the Portuguese White Fleet was a familiar sight for residents of St. John’s. Andrieux recounts some of these fond memories.
